video questions..

so i was shooting video yesterday of us lighting off some fireworks. it's extremely choppy. is there something i'm doing wrong here? also, when i transferred it to my computer, it shows up as 3gp. is it still mpeg4? it says it is in the settings...

*edit: it wasn't low light. we were lighting off sparkler bombs during the day.
thanks,
-u

Re: video questions..

When in video click the little spider symbol on the left side of screen to open up settings. You have a choice to record in 3gp or Mp4. It's under encoding type. You can also change it to 720 p recording here.

Re: video questions..

H.263 is 3gp basically. Just click and change it to mp4 in the camera settings, take a video and transfer that file to your computer and the format should not read .3gp

Re: video questions..

Are you on a tp2 or Evo? Your description and avatar shows the tp. I hate to do this, but I don't know much about android, if it is truly recording and playing back in the h263 container, then something is going on that won't let you change the settings, try a hard reset, best thing I can suggest unless someone can chime in here that has a little more knowledge than I.
