How do you remove a program on Home page?

Well i wanted to add some programs and i was able to add facebook and youtube on a different page.But when i go to add Twidder it says i must remove a program on the home page.

Well i do not care to have people there or voicemail but how do i remove them?

press the icon and hold down your finger and drag it to the bottom where it says "remove"

it only removes the icons from the screen.... it does not remove(uninstall) the app/widget from your phone.
