Daughter Dropped My Evo!

Ok, so I went to take the garbage out yesterday and my Evo was charging (as usual) sitting on the arm of the couch. My daughter got up and ran into the chord and knocked it off the couch onto the wood floor. Not a scratch on it as I have ghost armor full body shield, which works great. After hitting the ground though, the battery cover came off. I need to know if one of the prongs broke off during the fall. I already didn't like how the cover came on and off and it seems very flimsy. I have attached a picture of what mine looks like, it would be great if someone could attach a picture if theirs.

Here's what looks like a piece is missing

And here's a closeup:

Re: Daughter Dropped My Evo!

I was just going to start a thread like this. The Evo is tough as nails! I just dropped mine literally 2 minutes ago walking into my building on the cement from about 5 ft. Bounced, back cover popped off, battery came out. Nothing but a minor scratch on the corner. Screen still as beautiful as the day i bought it. God damn do I love this phone

That's good to know! Still don't like the battery cover though. Might trade it in anyway because I'm having occasional reboots.

I think once you mentally get over the flimsy feel of the battery cover, it won't bother you as much. I used to be very delicate with it for fear it would snap and it would take me forever to take it off. One day i just firmly yanked it off and have been doing so ever since with no issues.

You phone stock, no apps added? Personally I would go back to stock non-rooted without apps to test if it's the phone or some customization you may have done that causes this rebooting.

You may end up exchanging you phone and having the same results if it is..

I was having some issues with stock ROM and very few apps installed. I decided to root about 2 weeks ago and flashed a custom Rom (fresh evo) and was sailing along just fine until 2 days ago. It started to happen again. So I've tried it both ways. Someone on xda suggested a poor connection to the battery can cause such issues and my cover feels lose so I was thinking this may be my problem.
