How to unroot from Calkulins patched rom?

So I've updated to Calkulins patched latest ROM and still rooted. I also updated to his Wimax IMG. But now I need unroot so I can return the phone before my 30 days is up. I can no longer use recovery to flash back to a previous NAND. Is there any other way to unroot. Maybe reinstall the complete latest RUU..exe? Does anyone have the exe file so I can try. I've only been able to find the zip files but I can't run this because I can no longer run EVO-recovery. Will Sprint even care?...well technically I have to return it to Radio Shack.

try downloading the current version of htc sync and the stock shipped Ruu then update it via the ota after reflashing

Re: How to unroot from Calkulins patched rom?

Thats not gonna work.. I downloaded his patch too and the only way youre going to downgrade is by doing toasts part 2 of his recovery method and following all of the instructions. ONLY then will you be able to flash the pc36img otherwise itll keep telling you that youre trying to flash an older version and fail. After that youll be able to run the ruu. Without doing that first, the ruu will get about halfway and fail everytime. TRUST ME...took me a whole day to figure out how to do it.

Edit: And this is assuming that you still have root access.

Re: How to unroot from Calkulins patched rom?

At xda there is a step-by-step thread on how to unroot. I unrooted and returned my phone to its original state. Don't remember the exact thread but if you go to that site and search unroot ego you should find it.

Its not necessarily the unroot thats the problem though.. its the fact that the patch included the ota update and upgraded the bootrom. And it wont let you overwrite it without going through those steps first. If you dont know adb I suggest you learn it.

Then you obviously didnt flash calkulins rom/patch that we're talking about here. The ruu WILL NOT flash over it without downgrading the bootrom first its not possible. There are a ton of people on xda that had to go through the same steps just to be able to flash the ruu because it wouldnt work. As a matter of fact just flashing the ruu wont work because once the update tool boots its going to stall because it wont be able to even find the usb unless the phone is put in hboot. And even then it still is going to give the "cant update due to this being an older version" error.

By the way this is what I had to do... and 10 times out of 10 you will too if you want to get back to stock.
