Update allows you to choose HDMI output resolution!

Ok I found this out by accident last night will playing with my Evo but when you connect it to your TV and you have the HDMI connected notification, pull down your notification window and select HDMI Connected. This will now bring up some options for output resolution. The choices are Automatic, 720p, and 480p. If you are like me my older TV did not like video that was coming through unless it was in 720p (older Samsung model that doesn't like 480p via HDMI). Now everything I throw at it plays perfectly... Looks great on my 61" DLP.

Re: Update allows you to choose HDMI output resolution!

Was just about to ask this when your thread showed up. I also remembered someone else mentioning that they were not sure if they had not noticed this option in display settings previously.

I finally got my HDMI cable in and tested it out. Was surprised at how low the output rez was and hadn't remembered then about the options in settings.

Thanks,

-CC

I ordred my hdmi cable to day from your other thread.
Quick question that I have not seen answered yet clearly.
Does the HDMI out simply pass the output of the screen?

If the video on your sdcard is an actual 720p video then it will output that 720p video to the tv.

It does not clone the output of the display if that is what you are asking, it only displays certain things.

So far I tried movies and pictures I have on my SD or have taken with the phone.
