who got the froyo 2.2 update pushed to there Evo
ok i just got the new froyo 2.2 update pused to my evo i must say its smooth....will get back i got to see if sprint blocked tethering and free wi-fi.

Are you sure it's the Official 2.2 update and not the recent OTA maintenance release? I believe Froyo is slated for release later this year.
I cannot find any news/forums/announcements to confirm this. Do you have screenshots showing the software versions?

A few things -
1 - This is not a rom or radio, so it shouldn't be in the upgrades section. 2 - Anything Sprint pushes will always disable Wifi Tethering. They sell a $30 service to do that. Of course they will stop you from trying to do it for free. 3 - It's not Froyo, it's the fixed version of the OTA they released a couple days ago. It was pulled, they made some adjustments and they released again.

ATTENTION: Official Sprint Android 2.2 Froyo for HTC EVO 4G has NOT been released! Do NOT update your phone again if you applied the recent OTA update! |

Moved to the general EVO forum. Also, the update that was pushed was the most recent OTA update from Sprint, NOT FroYo. It is also known that if you already have the update installed and then install it again, you will most certainly have a bricked (non-working) EVO.
To ensure that no one ends up with a bricked EVO, I am going to repeat myself one more time: DO NOT INSTALL THE OTA UPDATE ON YOUR EVO IF YOU HAVE ALREADY INSTALLED IT! And with that, this thread is closed.
