Bad to unplug before fully charged?

Is it bad to unplug my phone before it is fully charged?

No, I don't think so, and not enough to compare to being a slave to the charge light

when your phone gets to 100%, it stops charging and starts dying, even if plugged in, so don't be freaked out when you leave it on all night and upon unplugging, lose 10%.

I don't really want to start a big debate, but there is another side of the question. While it may be good to completely discharge the battery a couple of times (when new) in order to properly calibrate ... lithium ion batteries do not respond well to deep discharges. They do much better with lots of mini-charges. Of course, individual mileage may vary.

THIS IS WRONG, DO NOT LET YOU BATTERY DIE ALL THE WAY. Newer lithium batteries aren't like older nickel batteries where you had to discharge them all way then do a full charge. Constantly discharging your lithium battery on a regular will in fact cause more harm than good. Also, I keep my phone on the charger when its fully charged for hours on end at times and not once have I ever had it drop 10% after taking off the charger or even after 30 minutes for that matter.

i think youre only supposed to let it discharge all the way once every couple of months for the meter to adjust correctly, but otherwise just charge whenever u need it.

When I leave my phone plugged into the charger, when the battery gets to about 95% the screen turns on and it stops charging. After a few minutes, though, it starts charging again and continues to do so until I unplug it. Perhaps this is what some people are talking about?

I have two evos and neither of them have ever done that, ever.

If your evo is left on the charger for several hours after it has finished charging, most users experience the top 10% of their battery (from 100-90%) going within 30 minutes of taking it off the charger.

And you are partially right, I was partially wrong. You SHOULD (as mentioned in a post above) let it like once a month die all the way for calibration. I changed my OP.

I have heard of that issue but I have yet to see it. I have several friends that have evos and this has never happened to any of them either.
