revert to stock evo

i havent really seen anyone answer this directly, so ill ask in the general forum.
is the NAND backup process the way that you would revert your evo to stock rom unrooted? i hear thats how your phone must be to get the 2.2 OTA when it airs

but i think most importantly i just wanted to make sure i can UNROOT lol. i already rooted and if i cant unroot i guess im screwed

Unrooting screws you. Having your phone rooted won't screw you.
You don't want OTA's. You want the rooted version of OTA's. When 2.2 does come out, it will quickly be followed by a working rooted version that you can load, w/o losing your root access.

As far as unrooting the phone, that's been discussed almost as much as the $10 fee. --->http://tinyurl.com/24xg72d
