I just did it and out crashes right after I try to get wifi started so it just confirms that root through their app is no longer working

I wonder if new Evo's ordered now will have the update reversible, as apparently our existing ones are (XDA has a way), or if new ones will have it more hard-coded in. I was going to order my wife an Evo today, but Wifi tethering is a must, so I guess more waiting is in store.

This morning when I checked for updates it told me there was a new update. It did the same on my wife's phone as well.

Tonight when I was going to update (5 mins ago), I checked again and this time it said my phone was up to date. Checked on the wife's too and she got the same response that it was up to date.

Looks like Sprint and HTC pulled the update from their servers.

I find that funny that they actually had to pull it because it was crappy and untested haha

The rooted update over at xda works... I can confirm it. Not only does it improve my wifi but my 4G is A LOT better inside the house. Still readding all of my apps and ill post a speed test.
