Possible to change default google account without factory reset?

Is there a way to change the default google account you set without having to hard reset? It just seems silly that there's no obvious way to do it. I've read on how to dig into menus and do it for android 1.5, 1.6 but haven't found anything for 2.1 yet. Anyone know if it's possible?

Re: Possible to change default google account without factory reset?

You'll find it from within the menus from email. Menu>More>Settings then the top choice

From my experience the answer is no. You can add multiple google accounts, but if you go to remove the default account it will require a reset. I haven't tried to keep multiple and change it, but for removal a reset is required.

If I had to guess it would be related to the Android Market TOS since the app downloads are associated to the google account.

Re: Possible to change default google account without factory reset?

He is right, have to do a factory reset to disassociate the phone from the account. If you go to setting and delete your google login, it will only affect the gmail acct.

Re: Possible to change default google account without factory reset?

for future reference try this, it worked for me on an Inc:

open gmail app > click menu > refresh > drag down the notification and you will see where it gives you the option to enter your new password

Hope this helps someone else
