Calendar sync issues

I am new to android and I am hoping this is an easily answered question.

I have an HTC EVO and the calendar entitled "my calendar" does not sync with my google calendar. Is there a way to fix this? Or at least a way to change what calendar events are set up in?

If I could change the calendar events were saved to it would be very helpful....as of now once I set an appointment in my phone the only place I can change the calendar it is saved to is on my google calendar which means finding a computer.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Calendar sync issues

I have not had an issue with this. The only thing that I know to check is to go to settings>accounts & sync> and check auto-sync and make sure google is selected and check calendar in there.

Re: Calendar sync issues

Everything is checked, but there are no check boxes for specific calendars.

For example, I have a calendar for my class schedule and my personal schedule. If I accidentally schedule an event on my class schedule, I do not see a way to change it to my personal calendar without deleting it and creating a new event.

I now have a program called gigbox (awesome app by the way) and it creates events in my calendar. It creates them under a calendar called my calendar and they do not sync with google although everything else does.

I hope I have explained this clearly enough. Thanks in advance for everyones help.

If youre saying this my calender thing is a 3rd party app it may not be compatible with google calender.

Re: Calendar sync issues

On your phone open your calendar, click on menu, more, then calendars. You can then pick which ones will sync. Hope this helps.

They are all checked and yet it is still not syncing. I believe that menu is for what calendars you want displayed on the phone.

It is in the htc calendar and is a legit calendar category, but it still does not sync. That also doesn't resolve my issue of not being able to change the calendar of an event from the phone.

Go to your HTML Google account then to your Calendar. Go to settings and make sure your Calendars are checked for syncing. Then sync your device by going into Settings/Data Sync/Google and force a sync by unticking Calendar and retick it. All of your Calendars will be on your device. Then to Calendar on your device Hit Menu then go to Caledars or More and tick which calendars you want to show.

If you fubar an event in the wrong Calendar, Go to your HTML Google account on your device, then to Calendar and create a bookmark to your device browser. Then set a quick link on one of your Home screens.

You can change the event from the wrong calendar to another Calendar from the HTML Google Calendar on your device without going to a computer.

Re: Calendar sync issues

Thanks everyone for the help...unfortunately none of the suggestions worked for me. I did find a but of a workaround that will hopefully be useful to someone else.

If you share the event with yourself via messaging....when it comes through it will give you the option of which calendar you would like to save it to.
