Gallery Problem

would this be pointless if i backed up my sd card to my computer then i reformat it or would it still work?

I think I got it figured out. I was having the same problem and was just about to format but was trying to figure out why it was only happening with photos in my DCIM folder... Anyway, there was a file in there that says no media, just delete that and you will see your pics. I beleive that file was added through some app that may be used to hide or protect your pictures etc and that is why you can't see them no matter what rom you use, you phone just reads no media and doesn't bring anything up. Hope this helps someone.
