BIG issue

The Facebook sync hang happens if you have 600+ fb contacts. This is one of the fixes in the upcoming update which is suppose to take place on Monday.

I've got less than ~350, nowhere near 600, and I've had the issue on stock and Fresh ROMs.

Sounds like you have an issue with one of the contacts on your phone. I had a similar issue some time ago but in addition to my sync hanging my phone was randomly rebooting and I kept getting locked out of our exchange server. Is your contacts locally on your phone or on an exchange server? Mine are on exchange so I was able to get the server logs to determine my problem. I have 396 FB friends without any problems. The 600+ was established by Will who works R&D at Sprint and is Admin at the Sprint Forums.

All of my contacts are synced to my Google account.

I have fewer than 200 FB friends and encountered this problem too.
