Re: How much faster with Froyo?

450% faster than 2.1
I can't find the link though, but here's a youtube vid... the 2.1 Mflop on the evo is like 4 or 5
in the video you will see it's 35

Now that aside running linpack on 2.1 with JIT enabled I get around 10 MFLOPS max.. On froyo I get around 40 MFLOPS.
Do you not read the Tech news on the Evo? It has been stated that the 30fps cap is being addressed in the release of 2.2. It is a limitation that is OS based via HTC...people have already been able to get 60fps on the phone with some tweaks...Your post is a bit confusing...you say there is a 30fps cap..but then you say there are users that have applied the 30fps fix?!?!? Which one do you really want to post about?

My post is confusing to you because you don't know what you're talking about. I suggest you do some more research.

Yes there IS a 30fps cap and HTC has already stated multiple times its a HARDWARE limit. They have never said they will fix it. There is a kernel that removes the 30fps cap on EVO's with the epson screen but not the novak screen which most users have.

So yeah you go by info you're getting from who knows where and I'll go by REAL world experience and tests..thank you..

well if there is a different kernel that can fix it, than its not hardware, its software. If it was hardware a different kernel or a few lines of code would not be able to fix it

ummm really? I said HTC said it was hardware but yeah obviously its not. I thought that was obvious but apparently not.

On second thought I have no idea what im talking about so move along and wait for the HTC fix to come out like ChrisH09 said HTC would do..

Lets all just relax were friends here no reason to get upset on either side. If it is a true hardware limit it would never be fixed by anything software, so for at least the epson screen we know it was not hardware. once a fix/verdict comes out we will know if the novatek screen is also software limited or if it truly does have some screwy limit. Granted that I doubt any of us are hardware/software engineers lets just agree to all be patient with the current developers working their magic and each person can solve their issues with the phone in their own manner.

Ha Ha... you hit the nail right on the head. I am a longtime Windows convert who swore I would never come over to the dark side. I must admit, I am pleasantly surprised with many facets of Android.
