Re: [Tutorial] How to check your 003 screen type...
I used to work in at a Medical Equipment MFG as a Quality Engineering Tech. We used many different manufactures for different parts. Usually 1 mfg will have a lead time of 2 weeks and the other 3 weeks. While we had our preference as to which we went with we always had a backup for the in a pinch situations. Usually less lead time the more $$$ it was gonna cost.
The same went for 1 off parts as well. AS long as they meet the minimum specs required it didnt matter. I honestly wouldnt be suprised if we ended up finding that there is another MFG that is making the screens as well. This issue is within the source and that has yet to be released from HTC. Once its released the issue or so called issued will be resolved (probably sooner though now). HTC is probably eating $@#& right now as they have been saying its a hardware limitation and that was just proved incorrect and a false statement. Sprint does monitor all forums as a means to be more aware. If HTC was blowing smoke up Sprints %$# they just done got called out on it. James |

Re: [Tutorial] How to check your 003 screen type...
hey bro. if you download Android Terminal Emulator From The Market and type in "dmesg" it will show you on your phone. just look for the <7> and on one of those it will show. i have novatec. best part is you dont have to be rooted. wish i was tho.
EDIT: I Learned This From "XSD"

This was by far the easiest and works on any phone, doesn't need to be rooted, no data cable, htcsync or pc/mac needed. -CC

Re: [Tutorial] How to check your 003 screen type...
I used the emulator method. It's nice that you can email the results to yourself.
I have the Nova screen. It's a Google I/O phone. To whomever asked if there wouldn't be a patch for the Nova screens, if HTC releases an official patch, it will be for all screens. I don't know why the screen would matter in the first place. It's not like one screen can only produce 30 fps and the other can reach 60 fps. |

I also have an 003 Nova. My daughter has a 002 and her screen looks exactly like mine.
