Not one of these... people have different experiences with different ROMs so they wont be able to give you a objective opinion on them, unless the try all 4 ROMs in a variety of tests. But yeah, usually these polls are a bad idea.

Just try one, if you dont like it, try the next one and so on...

and you forgot to include DamageControl ROM

This question and poll may be a little pre-mature in the EVOlutionary process of a new phone (and OS for most of us). Perhaps not..........

EVOlutions V8 Froyo 2.2 ROM. Even without the cameras, its the cleanest and fastest. IMO

No offense to any of the Chefs as I'm sure all the ROMs are well seasoned and taste great...

Not having tried any of the ROMs yet, my money would be on Fresh... I know he's had his hands in Android for some time now and I've seen some of the great work he was doing over in Hero Land... My first ROM will be a "FRESH" one, when the time comes! Right now, I'm happy with Stock until I find reason to flash...

i like my roms like an aztec king likes his sacraficial women...no, not screaming with their hearts torn out. i like them as virgins, with little on them as possible. you can keep your annoying boot up sounds and tacky start up animations and 400 programs that i'll never use where i'd have to weed them out but can't because most of the programs you can't uninstall. i don't tweet, but most chefs leave it in so it's there for me, taunting me. (use nelson's voice) it's taunting me with "ha-ha". you don't use me, but i'm heeeere! i like MIKROM where you can strip it down and build it back up to your personal preference. sure some might go for features and eyecandy, but let me decide what i want it to look like.

yeah im running stock with root!! waiting for 2.2 with sence (hopefully offical) there isnt much in android i want to change.
i planned on making a blackout rom for android but there isnt much to change mostly everything works (evo and incredible) droid does i guess!!

Ive tried a few, and the "baked snack" rom is my favorite. It just seems to fit my "wants" the best, ie most of the sprint stuff has been removed and it just feels light and fast. I guess my rom tastes have carried over from my winmo days where I only ran dcds' bare-bones roms. Like the poster above stated, I like to add my own stuff instead of sifting through the countless apps ill never touch.

Maybe this is just a PPC Rom poll (although OMJ/Calkulin are @ XDA as well) here are other good roms found @ XDA:

Fresh Evo

This is hard....not sure if I agree with the thread as most of the ROMS that I flashed seemed similar. Really the only one that does stand out is EVOlution V8........only because it's a beta build and beta builds always have cooler features.
From the list of available ROMS though, take your pick. All of these guys are pros.

Baked Snack also gets my vote...very fast and great battery life. I've played around with EVOlution V8, it's nice, must try if you wanna use Froyo.

its a bit unfair to ask which is the BEST ROM...since ROMs are like ice cream flavors...everyone has their OWN preference. Besides, not ALL AVAILABLE EVO ROMs are represented.

ive been using Bugless 0.3 for a few weeks now. just waiting for the camera to work in froyo and im on that!

this isnt like wm6.5 on the TP2 where u pretty much HAD to flash...im content with stock-rooted rom. the sprint apps are annoying, but o well. they dont take up much ram, when i clear em out with ATM, i opnly gain like 25-40mb of ram. ive never had this stock rom crash on me which is new to me.

Me too, how has your battery life been? Mine has been truly excellent. I'm 10 hours into the day and still have 50% left...

I am on omj v1.4 and love it. I tried fresh v.3 and the battery life was terrible. OMJ all the way.

I would definately say go with OMJ. At first I didnt like the idea of a "custom color theme" so I went for Fresh Rom...which I didnt really like to much. I then went to OMJ and immediatly loved it!

same here !! im running fresh as we speak on 1 device and omj 1.9 on other !! McLoving both !! batterys just about the same with both roms and the 2 tweeks from threads within this awesome site !! =D>

Rolling w the OMJ n CALK as both have awsome batt life and very very easy to move around. Calk cause all the apps n stuff go to ur sd w ALOT of free space on ur phone which thats the number one thing i gotta love! Why would u wanna put alot of a. Useless files on ur phone or b. None usless?? Im on about 320 free space on the phone :) Now the OMJ.. One thing BLAZEEING hot speed Dayum buddy gotta love that ya digg! Best in performance no doubt!!

Crown those two devs on my behalf!. And thank you to all the other devs that busted chops to make something happen in this beautiful community. Thanks everyone keep up that AWSOME work ur putting in..

You can't beat your stock Sprint ROM (rooted of course). Everything works, 4G, VVM, WiFi tethering, etc.

Do you really need 50 FPS? How long can you look at those spinning gears if you're not on weed? When do you use more then 30fps?

You can overclock with the sprint stock, and do just about anything a custom ROM will do. And everything works.

the upgraded fps is freaking sweet.. for games. Seriously I notice it during movies and while playing games other than that I dont notice it. However those two times are enough for me to love it. Currently running CM6 with three issues no 4g no radio and I havnt solved the battery issue.

I have run the top two roms and honestly OMJ is great but its basicly a cleaned up stock rom. Fresh is awesome.. but fresh had bugs when I ran it so I switched too Damage control. Damage control was the best rom I ran thus far. Issue free full flash. I think now that fresh has been updated its probably as good as DC if not better.

With that said I am currently on CM6 and if I can get this battery issue solved I wont be going back to any other rom CM6 is freaking awesome. I am in love!!

I do need 50 fps. I play games and they lag. I know its not a power issue because I am running at almost 1.2ghz.

DC (Damage Control latest build) is the best, 30+ hours battery life, stable and everything works.
