Re: Best HTC EVO Rom

I have tried stock rooted, Omj's 2.1 version 1.9, Calkulins EviOs, Deck's Froyo 2.2, Bugless, and no disrespect to any of our great chefs cause I know from first hand experience what goes into rom building. But the most efficient and stable rom to me is OMJ's. I am using OMJ's 2.2 right now. Keep up the great work and THANK YOU to all the chefs out there that make all this possible.

In like a week this thread will be obsolete cuz we are only talking about the out of date 2.1! haha

Re: Best HTC EVO Rom

I am obviously new to the whole Rooted and Custom ROM's.. but I rooted my phone fully and am using Fresh.. I didn't know if FRESH ROM had access to 4G.. it's not in miami yet, but I would hate to miss it because I wanted the bells and whistles.. If anyone has the 411 on it.. I would greatly appreciate it.. and if you could make a list of Roms that allow 4G service. I'd greatly appreciate it.

Most of the 2.2 roms have it unless its a desire port

Re: Best HTC EVO Rom

I rocks with Sprint Lover's Rom. Shouts out to Chris. His roms definitely deserve a place on this best of list. I have used the other chefs' roms and I must say his works for what I need it for. The beauty about our chefs is that they each grab something from the other to make the best rom possible for us. It's all a matter of tweaks and overall layout for the user. However, if you read the first page of each rom post, you'll see how all the chefs give credit to one another in some way, shape or form and that's awesome.

I tried Fresh Evo 3.4.0.1 and it was super sketchy.. blinking and freezing. 2nd I flashed CyanogenMods newest stable.. 6 something and it wont let me use the Market and it did freeze up a couple of times but it seems SWEET! I am now going to check out something new until I find one that I can tweek to fit.. maybe come back to Cyanogen if nothing better.. Any suggestions? Anyone know how to fix the Market bug in Cyanogen?

amw1972 11-02-2010 01:49 AM

Re: Best HTC EVO Rom

I suggest going to the Cyanogen Mod thread at XDA...there have been MULTIPLE posts on that particular fix.

one question...did you flash the LATEST gapps??

I vote for CM6.1 for the best NON Sense based ROM.

thank you!

I used Fresh before this ROM 3.4.0.1. I started with RLS3 and now RLS4... I never looked back RLS4 ROCK'S. Everything works and works well. One thing I have noticed is to use the stock kernel (HTC- #17) its fast smooth and I have gotten at-least 23 hours of battery life. The marginal gain of others is truly negligible in real world use. I use this phone as a secretary in my pocket for computer support biz and photography biz. Thanks Myn ... this should be commercially installed by Sprint. LOL

aman1127 11-27-2010 01:38 PM

I thought we established the flaws in the original question already.....location and use vary too much to ask such a thing

I have pretty good 4G here so I am always looking for a hot Rom but one that has 4G. Does Myn's?

rogerwalker22 12-01-2010 11:17 PM

Re: Best HTC EVO Rom

Yes Myns has 4G, the only reason I voted for Fresh was because MynRLS4 isn't up there. I've been on Myn since RLS2 and it's constantly been amazing! Keep up the awesome work MYN!!!!!!!!

Wirelessly posted (HTC Evo : Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2; en-us; Sprint APA9292KT Build/FRF91) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1)

Myn is my vote. Chris does a great job as well with Sprint Lovers also. But I always find my way back to Myn. Every ROM is unique in some way. My hats off to all as well!

I've been hooked on Virus Infected Aosp 2/15. Pretty darn fast and the battery is sweet. He just released a sense version too; for those interested pm me.

I truly wish there was a "Best ROM Ever". At least some clear criterion. I flash so many and am tired of rebuilding my phone.
I appreciate all the work of the cooks but so often one Rom seems the same as the other save for the theme and a couple of apps.

That was one of the advanateges of the WinMo kitchens where we all cooked our own.

That MIUI is pretty kool and very different. I ran it for a week but went back to Mik. Too many things on MIUI did not work right.

LouieH 03-15-2011 07:01 PM

Re: Best HTC EVO Rom

Yeah, I like MIUI too. Especially the record option while in call. I've been running this ROM for a little over 2 weeks.

Does any other ROM have this record option?

lkillen 03-15-2011 08:02 PM

Re: Best HTC EVO Rom

MIUI had some real cool animations. I liked sliding from one page to another where it was like looking around a corner. Made me feel like I was having an Inception.

Wish someone else had that that also has 4G.

Hello, I tried all the roms in the list but I think the best right now is CM7 Nightly (not in the list). I have CM7 Nightly, GoLauncherEx, SetCPU, AdFree, etc, everything working perfect, fast and stable.
