Re: Sero plan possible with rooting??
What does rooting your phone got to do with sero? Once the system reads that esn number it will recognize that its an evo.

Re: Sero plan possible with rooting??
SERO is not possible on ANY Android. Root, unroot, downgrade, put new ROM on it, as long as phone's running Android, you are not putting it on SERO. Only exception is WinMo phones running Android port.
Basically, any new phone coming out will NOT work with SERO. Think of it as owning a car, but changing a transmission from Automatic to Manual. It's still the same car as far as your insurance sees it. |

Re: Sero plan possible with rooting??
If you root yourself on a stick, then it will be possible to activate. Give it a try and report back...

Re: Sero plan possible with rooting??
The problem with this argument is that (at least in my opinion), both sides are right lol.
No, you shouldn't have to switch plans or pay extra fees just to use a different phone. Half the reason why I haven't renewed my contract with Sprint (despite ironically already having been out of contract for over 2 years now) is that I'd have to switch to a more expensive plan (that doesn't offer much more, if anything at all, than my current plan) just to get a newer phone. From a consumer POV, it doesn't make sense to make people switch sides just to use a different phone, especially if they paid full price for the phone. Yes, Sprint can pretty much do whatever they want. From a business POV, you can make a lot more money by forcing people to switch from older, cheaper plans, to newer more expensive plans that cost little to nothing extra on your end. |

Re: Sero plan possible with rooting??
It's illegal since it counts as fraud. Although it's stupid if you own both devices. And all these carriers should be prohibited from requiring special accounts for each specific device, especially if you purchase the device off contract.
