Re: Okay finally got my evo! now what?

I havent rooted mine yet. I wouldnt reccomend it personally unless you need the htc tether capability. But if you don't need that now, I would wait and see what happens with froyo. This puppy is amazing just stock.

I would unlock now before you accidentaly update to a new ota rom from sprint that locks the phone from root. Who knows how long it will take to find a new exploit to root the phone if sprint locks it.

Re: Okay finally got my evo! now what?

you may want to do a hard reset. i don't really know why, but my battery life has been much better since i did. one thing i noticed is that it now defaults to CDMA instead of GSM.

Re: Okay finally got my evo! now what?

I say first thing is to learn what a forum is all about and don't start a post asking what to do with your device when this whole sections is about that!

I will help you out because I feel generous. Go to the below link and read everything that sounds interesting to you. Do not start a new thread until you read it all!!!

I don't understand, the Evo doesn't support GSM, or did I miss something?

For a lot of people, myself included, the EVO's preferred network type was set to GSM. Setting it to CDMA seems to help battery life.
