Re: Wired Tethering ( for rooted users )

The rationalization of a hacker. You could write a PhD thesis on this subject.

That's funny. I posted just above you that it isn't free to do this. And that is stealing how?

Re: Wired Tethering ( for rooted users )

PDAnet and Easy Tether both require some sort of client software to already be installed on the machine you want to USB tether to. There has got to be a way to utilize the phone as modem feature built in to the phone, so one could essentially plug their Evo in to ANY pc and have it be recognized as a NIC and share internet. If WinMo could do it with a simple hack i believe Android should be able to as well.

This is exactly what I've been searching for and want to do. I was able to do this on my Touch Pro 2 after a simple reg edit. I'm sure there has to be a way on Android. Just need to keep searching..

Re: Wired Tethering ( for rooted users )

I hope I stand corrected but if there was such a simple method you wouldn't have to search for it

Well there are A LOT of simple things I could do with windows mobile that I had to search for in order to do on Android. I also hope your corrected, b/c it would be so nice to tether w/o having to install a an app on the PC/MAC as well.
