Email Sync Annoyance

Does anyone know if there is a way to get these to sync the way WinMo did? Here is my issue. I have Hotmail in my sync list of emails. It pulls down all the email just fine, but then say I go and delete a hundred or so emails from my PC... those seem to not be getting reflected on the next sync with my phone. So I end up having to delete in TWO locations. That is just dumb. Am I missing something? Is there a setting I am not finding? I love this phone, but I am starting to get more and more irritated with a lot of issues like this.

If you looked a little further down you would have found this post. Apparently they had the same problem as you.

Re: Email Sync Annoyance

Yeah, I started a thread about this last week. It's a combination issue between hotmail, and the stock mail app. Hotmail still uses POP3 protocol which is designed for pull only. However a good app should be able to look at the last # emails or # days and make sure it's synced up. I finally used this as an excuse to switch to gmail as my primary email. I now have my gmail pulling emails from hotmail. I will still keep my hotmail because I've had it for nearly 15 years. Unlike the other poster, I think gmail is awesome.

OH man I forgot hotmail was pop only. Well that explains it right there. Yeah I switched to Gmail completely last year when I got the Pre and seriously have not been looking back.

http://blogs.howtogeek.com/mysticgee...gmail-account/

Basically checks every hour or so. You can go into the settings and have it check now. You can have it delete the received messages or leave them there in your hotmail when it is received. It will import everything from your hotmail account. It may take several hours to get everything, but it does it all in the background. You can also send email using your hotmail address from gmail. Since it only checks every hour I am starting to use gmail as my primary, but I will still get anything that comes to my hotmail eventually.
