Re: no more evo
lookout is a similar app. it backs up the phones contacts memory and photos , anti virus, and has the alarm gimmick. it does not remotely wipe but will find your phone... its also free and worth a smoke...

Re: no more evo
signup for the 15 day trial of sprint family locator, you dont have to setup anything on the device but it will send a sms to the phone saying "this phone can now be located" when you add it to your account... OR try calling sprint and see if they can do anything to locate it?

Re: no more evo
Quick question about mobile defense battery drain...is there anyone with enough usage to know if it kills the battery?

Re: no more evo
I just installed the Mobile Defense app and tried it out. I gave my phone to a friend and he hopped on his bike with it. I gave him a 15 minute lead and took off after him.
IN the Chicago suburbs it took about 3 minutes to locate the phone, once I had the address I hopped on my bike and went down there. He moved but not far, it was a best buy store. I have 3g in my laptop so I carried it in and sent the message with alarm. Sure enough over in the appliances I hear sirens. Needless to say it works. I did a root install using the .zip method. The app hides in the phone but handcent shows the messages. It uses texts to talk to the phone and data once a connection is established. Next test I want to try to tun off data and gps to see what it does... I would suggest we all get this app!
