Re: Disable Automatic Backlight Dimming while Charging
Might check out an app in the marketplace called Screebl. It will keep screen on according to the tilt of the phone. Nice app.

Re: Disable Automatic Backlight Dimming while Charging
Yea, this is kind of annoying. WinMo had an separate profiles to when you were plugged in it would stay on and if you had it unplugged it would shut off at a set amount of time.
Anything similar to that?

I'm also looking at a way to emulate WinMo's option where you can have separate brightness and screen timeout when charged. Awesome idea, especially since I plug the phone in a car and use a car cradle. |

Re: Disable Automatic Backlight Dimming while Charging
Look in the Market for ScreenModeWidget by Sam Chiu. Can toggle between auto, backlight timeout but no lock, and always on by just tapping the widget. Got it just for the reason you mentioned. Navigation keeps it alive, but just having maps up does not. This takes care of it.

Re: Disable Automatic Backlight Dimming while Charging
Went to the Sprint store to ask them to "fix" this issue because it's dimming my screen when plugged into my car charger and I can't see the screen when driving during the day. The employee said it's suppose to do that...after trying to explain what it's "suppose" to do three separate times I just left. The guy wasn't getting it...I guess I'm stuck changing it manually every time I get in the car...lame. I too was use to WinMo's power profile changing it for me depending on whether a charger was attached or not.

Re: Disable Automatic Backlight Dimming while Charging
I actually found a solution too this. Use Power Manager Pro. It gives me the exact options I need.
