Screen black with no text or buttons when something asks for root.

My evo wont let me say anything to root permission! Trying out things like ROM Manager and it freezes when asking for root. Is anyone else running into this? So far, Mybackup pro and ROM Manager have had the issue, not much else asks.

Which root method are you using?

I had this issue because I didn't wipe right before installing a custom Rom.

using the "Noob" method found on the forums here, no unrevoked. Going to try redoing it from scratch see what happens...

Yeah, this solves the issue for me, but only when I connect to USB using "HTC Sync" any other mode or disconnecting the cable disables it again causing the blank issue... any way to either bypass this requirement or keep it "enabled" permanently?
