My only two negatives on my new EVO

So I just got my EVO yesterday, and it's kinda quiet. Love the phone, it's beautiful, but I don't hear notifications, and the music player is like an iPod with the headphones out of your ears. Hm.
edit: I am a filthy liar, tried slacker radio and it's loud. Sigh nevermind, now only one problem with the phone

Also, I love the snapdragon processor, but every once in a while (like 4 times since I got it yesterday) the phone hits a bump and has a mini lag party.. Any comments?

Have you installed anything? When you first get the phone it goes through syncing and provisioning, once that's over with it settles down.

I have never experienced a lag on this phone. Ever. You must have a ton of apps open. For the notifications, raise your media volume. And possibly change the notification tone to something else.

Yeah I dl'd like 50 apps right at the beginning, I assumed that was the major perp of the slow session.

Go into the sound and display settings and select the option to use the same volume for ringer and notifications. By default, these are separate and changing the ringer volume won't change the notification volume.
