Re: Power button defective?

I'm having the same issue, I usually HAVE to do a battery pull to get it to power back on. Not a big enough reason to return my phone, but weird none the less....

Re: Power button defective? Can't turn phone back on right after shut down.

Call HTC, best bet is to let them know of the issues you are having...once they get enough of the same issue reported, they will work on fixing it. Alot of people come in here and post their problems, but it never ends up getting to the correct area, which is HTC technical support.

I will supply the phone number you need to call to get these issues sorted....

HTC Customer Service/Tech Support
1-866-449-8358

I found a issue on my Touch Pro 2, with the screen vibration...turn it off but the dialing still vibrated, HTC tested a phone on the spot at the Call center and noticed the same thing and reported it to the correct department.

Still post in here, but call them..they manufatured the phone, so they have the know how to fix it..

Hope that helps a bit.

Damn you people are impatient. That time is just for the linux os to do the final sig term and shut off. And there is a pause... From working with Linux, I assume that is normal in Android. The TP and TP2 (even tho it runs windows) kinda did the same thing. There was a small delay before you would turn it back on. (atleast in my experience anyway)

Its just how nix shuts down...

Hex's idea works for turning the phone on but my display still won't shut off using the power button.

Re: Power button defective? Can't turn phone back on right after shut down.

Wow, this is sad. I just cut mine off and back on with no problem. Are you guys holding down the power button to cut it back on? Because you dont have to, all you have to do is press it once.

It's crazy how you see a few of the same people having issues with something everyday and then I, try it for myself to see if I have a problem and I never do. Makes me wonder.

Side note... just happened to have to power down (damn Pandora crashed) while plugged into the charger... powered down and unplugged.... the charge light stayed lit for a good 30 seconds and I couldn't power up during that time... as soon as it went off, tapping power worked just fine.

Theory... my idea on latent capacitance holds true OR even though it looks to be off, Android still had not fully completed shut down... if the latter is true it makes sense that it would not power back up right away.

I get this too but not too worried about it. Probably just Linux shutting down.
