well, have to think, your Shures are probably designed to block interference and line noise which as far as Shure is concerned is what FM transmissions are. your dollar store headphones though are going to be as cheap as possible and don't have the same level (if any) shielding

Yeah, I have a really expensive set of shielded earbuds, and NOTHING comes in with them...oh well...I listen to the FM radio in the car...thats it...so the car stereo still does that job quite nicely.

yeah we've got pandora, slacker, i heart radio, etc., all streaming over data so why are we worried about FM?

to play both sides: well, Radio From Hell Show on X96 isn't available on those other options

I used ones like those 80's headphones and it picked up every station. Was kinda let down to not see RDS with the FM Radio.

I tried my better set of JVC ear buds and it only got 2 stations. Seems like the larger speakers from the old school ghetto headphones help it pickup the stations.
