Re: Slow *3G* data speeds
I was noticing the same thing in Denver, I got smoked by my buddy with an iPhone while comparing YouTube apps. It was bizarre because like many of you, my TP2 performed so well. I noticed web pages were taking FOREVER to load, though I never did a speed test. Finally, the night of the 4th, I did a hard reset and since then my phone has performed as MCUH better. It may be a coincidence, but performance is better now nonetheless.

Re: Slow *3G* data speeds
having the same issue here. tested on phone & laptop via tethering, getting less than 1mb down, usually it's 2-3mb.
there's a new radio out, 1.39.00.05.31, I'm gonna flash in the am & retest |

Re: Slow *3G* data speeds
Yeah I can't handle going from a consistent 2Mbps down on T-Mo to barely getting past .5Mbps. I'm constantly using data and that just isn't acceptable. It even affects using the basic features of the phone like video calling and YouTube.
I was wondering as well if maybe Sprint was throttling the 3G on the phone as a means to up play the wonders of 4G, even though Phoenix isn't even on the list to get it this year. Plus, users with 4G are reporting speeds of 3-4 Mbps, and I'm can sometimes hit 3Mbps on my Nexus One, so...I'm still torn. Beautiful phone with crappy data. :-/ |
Re: Slow *3G* data speeds
Yes, EVO data speed is horrible even I am near the tower with full signal bar, my TP2 is way faster by comparision on the same spot test. I've just returned the EVO, will wait until there is 4G in CA.

I've exchanged my EVO today and will try out some more speed tests. |
Re: Slow *3G* data speeds
I get fantastic 3G speeds. Much better than my TP2 that's for sure.

Re: Slow *3G* data speeds
The new radio doesn't seem to have any change on the data speeds. You tube is almost unusable. Web browsing seems ok but anything else data intensive you can forget about. I brought the issue up at a sprint store here in Phoenix and they said absolutey nothing in response.

Re: Slow *3G* data speeds
Something I noticed since the "sprint crash" on launch day is that my phone while doing the speedtest.net test is being located in kansas instead of texas all the time and my speeds have been less than usual. don't know if the two are related but just seems like it might be
