Re: Tethering

Well i do know we dont have 4g here but only 3g. I am Unrevoked rooted and I do know I could wireless tether both my laptops after enabling the Sprint hotspot.

Now IDK how you guys wanna word all of that because I know it should be paid for but being rooted allows you to get around all of that but i guess it can be done.

Re: Tethering

Well then I would look for a 30 dollar fee on your bill then if you are using sprints hotspot the only sure way without paying is the free wifi tether pdaner one time fee or easy tether one time fee. Sprints are PAID MONTHLY! If you rooted and got them working I would make some discreet calls to Sprint and ask before you get a nasty surprise on your bill.

Re: Tethering

I really doubt Sprint gives full and unlimited access to the hotspot on the phone. It would seem it would be regulated on Sprints side because if not that means anyone could go in there and enable it (not really knowing what they are doing) and end up with extra charges. Those are the kind of things carriers try to prevent.

Re: Tethering

Well, when I connect via USB to my laptop, Mr. EVO asks me if I want to do internet sharing. When I select that, I get to the internet using the phone. I did have to install HTC sync on the laptop to make that work, but it works great.

Re: Tethering

Hmm, so the "Sprint Hotspot" is the program that ships with the evo right? Knowing about their shady deals and hidden fees I opened it up just to see what it says and it didn't give any sort of warning that there is a fee. But there is indeed a fee for 3G now and after July for 4G usage right?
