POP E-mail Does Not Auto Sync

Does anyone have any issue with POP e-mail not auto downloading at the set interval?? I have three POP e-mail accounts setup and have them set to sync every 15 minutes for both peek and off peek hours. I have it set to sync every day of the week as well. It seems unless I go into each account it does not sync on it's own and pull down and new e-mail. Anyone else have this issue??

I have the same problem, but it not as bad as you. I tried every frequency setting and found that 2 hours, 4hours, and 1 day doesn't work. Every other interval seems to work fine. It must a software glitch. I wonder if anyone else has this problem.

I've been doing some research and seems that Android's mail client isn't the greatest. I'm trying out K-9 mail right now which seems to be working much better.

Mines seems to work fine, I have both my gmail and hotmail set up. Have you tried going to Settings > Accounts & Sync > Auto-Sync?

Re: POP E-mail Does Not Auto Sync

For those using the native client and hotmail, all of my mail out there is filtered in hotmail to go to different folders but the native client evidently does not do other folders but only the basics like Inbox, Sent, Trash, Drafts.

What is everyone else using because this native client is useless to me. Ive tried K9 and I have it set to download all folders but it doesnt either.

Re: POP E-mail Does Not Auto Sync

Screw the native client, I ditched that for k-9 Mail immediately:

http://www.androlib.com/android.appl...ck-k9-Cjz.aspx

Although the site says 2.4, Androidstore has 2.6 version.

Works really well on pop.

PS, the native client is ueless.

Re: POP E-mail Does Not Auto Sync

I am using the native client for my hotmail and it syncs on schedule, but it does not update the read emails. For example if I read an email on my pc then sync it so that hotmail updates, on the evo is still shows up as unread. I worked fine on my tp2. Would that be a deficiency in the client, or am I doing something wrong?

its a problem w/ the native client and POP.

any way to set up k9 to 'push' emails? or would this kill the battery quicker?

I liked the 'peak/off peak' option, but it appears that the mail client isnt checking any of my emails

guess i'll try to figure out k9..
