How's the audio output?

I'm looking into this phone, and one of my biggest concerns is the audio output. There was an extreme drop in quality from the TP to the TP2, and I'm wondering if the Evo corrects this. The most noticeable problem is with the bass output; it's simply terrible in a sterio sound system and has no thump. Thanks!

It's ok. Not much more to say than that.

Sometimes quality depends on the app you are using. If you are using a streaming service like Slacker or Pandora, they can differ. As for just playing your own mp3s, quality of the mp3 can determine it as well. I would say 320kbps would sound pretty good since that is CD quality.

Re: How's the audio output?

Oh sorry I thought you were talking about speakerphone quality for music. I read your post again..my bad.

I'd say the output from the 3.5mm jack is a little better than the TP2. It's pretty good on all levels, but the lack of an equalizer in the stock music app is a little disheartening.

Re: How's the audio output?

Thanks guys. I'm pretty heartbroken about the TP2's audio being terrible, as I used it as a replacement iPod. I don't know what the hell HTC did.

Also, the quality's not the problem. I used the exact same MP3s on my TP and the TP2, and they were infinitely better on the TP.
