Re: evo randomly rebooting

had 4 in one night in a low signal area while using the phone .. un installed everything and wasnt running a task killer at that time .. hard reseted and 2 days later .. i just had my reboot begin to occur again ..

before i was having 5-10 minute intervals of reboot - it would reboot within that amount of time ...

now .. im right back where it was - i am running a task killer to see / switch between programs.

i think it has to do with the location gps update for the WEATHER! and when it cannot locate - it for some reason will reboot...

check and see what interval you have synced with weather to update and see if it happens within that time

Re: evo randomly rebooting

more random reboots. 2 last night after force closing some apps (a couple that used gps) and both were during calls. another today after using sprint nav to look a location up and get a route then actually having sprint nav running while in the middle of a call. pandora was also playing at the time. thinking about calling sprint up and asking omgwtfbbq.

Re: evo randomly rebooting

I only had 1 reset before today and thought it was a fluke. Now today I had 2, one while playing music through my stereo and another while on a call. Just as someone else described, I could still hear the person talking while it was rebooting then it stopped during the boot up animation. I'm very unhappy about this, I guess it's just a software glitch so it can be fixed. As soon as someone acknowledges it even exists! So I'm going to try a hard reset and hope that fixes it.

A friend that works for sprint said he believes it's third party widgets causing a conflict. I know I've tried a bunch of them and really enjoy the use of widgets. But I could probably get by using mostly htc widgets if that's going to stop my reboots. I have to have the beautiful widget clock though. I'm scared that might be the issue because it's constantly accessing the gps. We shouldn't have to not use our gps though. It can't be the task manager because I'm not using one.

the only 3rd party widgets I have are part of some apps I have, and I have less than 10, I think. no task manager here either.

I'm going to hard reset tonight when my phone gets some more juice, I used it heavily at work as a coworker wanted to see all the features and fell in love with viewing youtube via the browser and htc flash player (It works faster on 3g than using the youtube hq app). I'm not installing any widgets except beautiful widgets and maybe that incredible music program someone just posted. That widget and player look amazing! Will report back with my findings.

Re: evo randomly rebooting

What's the root status of everyone rebooting?

Are you rooted?

If so, what method?

I started getting this soon after I rooted with unrevoked. Never had a random reboot problem before that with GPS, widgets, and task killers running. The root seems to be the only thing new that could be causing this. What do you think?

Re: evo randomly rebooting

This is strange and very frustrating. I am about to wipe out my phone and redo everything, anyone have any luck with this?

Anyone root with unrevoked know how to unroot?

I'm willing to try just about anything, I can't have a phone randomly rebooting on me. Crazy.

Re: evo randomly rebooting

Don't understand why your phone would be doing this. i have the 003 rev. of the phone and haven't experienced a single problem. i run all the apps listed and much more and no reboots. Try doing the new full root posted and see if the problem still occurs
