I just flashed OMJ v1.6 rom on the phone still get same error.

Alright just in case anybody else runs into this issue I have solved it. It might have been obvious to some. Any way just follow the directions on the xda link as far as the adb shell commands and after I did that it all worked. So hopefully that will help somebody if they ran into the wifi tethering starting with errors.
