WiFi issues

Is anyone else getting terrible, terrible WiFi reception on their Evo? I currently have WiFi on and am sitting about ten feet from my wireless n router in the same room and my Evo only shows one bar of reception, sometimes two. If I leave the room and go into the living room, some 20 or 30 feet away, I don't get any. My laptop on the other hand has full reception in whichever room of my apartment that I'm in. Similar problems? Ideas? Solutions?

I've noticed this. Although I don't quite get to 0 reception, but I do only get the dot when in my bedroom some 20 feet away, where both my wife and I's macbooks get perfect reception.

I am next to my router and when I turn on the wifi, it doesn't do anything. Where is the bar status? I am kind of lost.........

my 3g is good haven't used the wifi the only reason i would use wifi is to make the phone a router.
