Fring will let you chat over yahoo, aim, and Skype. I don't know about ichat though.... I haven't used it but the site (linked) seems to suggest it supports aim and yahoo. |

Re: Video chat over AIM / iChat ?
I used fring and it worked with aim, but I was talking to my buddy who also has an evo and was connected via fring. I'm hoping as this device gets more popular other IM programs start to incorporate webcam support into their mobile apps.

Re: Video chat over AIM / iChat ?
I tried to video chat from EVO to the Computer and no luck... fring does not support MSN Messenger and neither Google Talk for video chat. I tried qik buy that's just video streaming... not really chating. I'm giving up for now... |

Re: Video chat over AIM / iChat ?
I think it will only be a matter of time now for support from the different IM clients for hopefully a universal video chat. There are enough phones with front facing cams coming out this yr on different platforms that should spark up enough interest from the different IM clients that already allow video on computers.
By the end of the summer we will have the Evo, Galaxy 2, Nokia N8, and Iphone 4. 2 of them are Android phones, one is Nokia which has its own following, and Iphone which has a huge following. One can only assume that with the market slowly shifting to video chat on cell phones, all these IM clients will want to make their own official video chat client that will hopefully work for any phone (not platform specific) that has a front facing cam or video cam period. |
