data connection always on.

i noticed that my data connection is always (3g is always visible). i know how to turn it off through settings, but when i try to use any apps that require internet connection, i would have to go through the settings and turn it on manually. is it possible to make this experience easy? i would like something that can easily and quickly turn the connection off and automatically turn it on when it needs to be on? and i have the always on unchecked.

Main menu>add>widgets>settingS>mobile and 4g and wifi and GPS. I have them all on one screen and its easy to close like that.

You can keep em all off and you will still receive calls and txts. If you have auto updates, they will update as soon as you flip all the switches.

Mine doesnt when I have the "mobile" tab off. Or you can hold the power button and kill it like that too.

Turn off always on mobile data connection in the wireless settings. It'll turn off an inactive 3g connection in 20 minutes.

I think the worse battery drain with 3g on is the constant switching from 3g to 1x every text you send.

Thats why i leave the extras off until i need it. The phone will at the very least do the basic functions. I live in a area with horrible service and since you cant truly turn it off on the TP2, my battery was dead in 2 hrs. The EVO lost only 5%! Awesome.
