Hotmail email problem

So, I setup my hotmail through the stock mail app, and first of all, everything that it downloaded showed as unread. So, I went through and long-pressed all of the unread email to mark as read. Now, if I delete stuff through the browser on my pc, and then click refresh in my hotmail on my evo, it doesn't sync the deleted messages or the read mesages in my hotmail. Basically the only thing that syncs is new messages, and they all show up as unread. I searched through the options, and couldn't find any settings that would fix this. On the other hand, everything with my exchange account syncs properly.

edit: added yahoo to the title since it has been mentioned that yahoo mail suffers the same problem. nevermind, tested yahoo, and it works fine.

Re: Hotmail problem

Yeah I am having this problem as well too. I haven't had too much time to look into it though.

Re: Hotmail problem

Set it up through MS exchange. I have my gmail set up with that. It syncs the last modified for mail, calender and contacts. Pretty sweet! Just make sure in your hotmail is setup in settings

Re: Hotmail problem

Well, from what I understand, you can only have one exchange account, and I don't want to waste it on my hotmail when it shouldn't be necessary.

Re: Hotmail problem

I think hotmail and yahoo both do what you described. I can send you a gmail invite and you can forward all the emails to that. Gmail (not using exchange) updates both accounts, phone and computer.

SAME exact problem for me! So far this is one of the few things that I cant stand about my evo... Hotmail is my main e-mail accnt I use gmail only so i can sync my contacts and calendar automatically. I dont think its possible to use a free hotmail accnt in exchange im gonna look for a windows live app in the marketplace because in that area my tp2 beats the evo by 100% I would really like to be able to get my hotmail as it arrives to instead of just every 5 mins or 10.

If anyone knows of a way to fix this please please let me know.

Re: Hotmail problem

Push Email is not available yet for Hotmail as far as I know... You can try Seven, it's in beta & works decently but no html support as of yet. Push Support should becoming real soon via Microsoft

i believe the only way this can be fixed is when Microsoft releases there new hotmail version. the stock mail app is acting like a pop account for hotmail. so it will not sync in all locations(like a exchange account)
