Angry Sprint evo bricked....need fix... HELP/SOS

ok basically my phone wont get passed the htc evo 4g start up screen. my computer wont sync with it for me to do the recovery with the stock rom

i have put the phone in recovery and tried to run the stock exe but it dosn't connect with the phone.

please help

I extremely LOATHE when people say bricked....the reason is because if your phone turns on its not bricked...you can tell because when it IS all its good to be used for is a paperweight.

when the phone is powered off i just hold the power button and the volume down. then i select recovery mode from the list.

the phone cannot load all the way to the main screen where i can acutually use the phone

this is exactly what i have been trying to do. but everytime i try to run the ruu i get the message "the rom update utility could not connect to your phone"

ii have it connected and in recovery mode. it just dont want to connect.
i have the adb drivers and running windows 7.

Why are you in rcovery when it specifically says fastboot, and then proceeds how to enter fastboot?
