Re: Working Confirmed Swype

Swype works better for me on the Evo then the TP2, it's smoother and works quicker.

Re: Working Confirmed Swype (Best EVO Keyboard)

Then select it:
Setting>Keyboard>check swipe. and then hold finger in textbox >Input method>Swype
(taken from post)

I understand everything but the "hold finger in the textbox" part.
I do not see a textbox or do not understand what it is.
I am a WIMO so please forgive my ignorance.

The textbox may be for example when you are sending a text (or searching, or URL input in your browser, etc...), press and hold on to the input area and a box will pop up, then select your input method which would be Swype.

hope that helps

When i press and hold the swype box with the checkmark it says something about the input method may be able to collect all the text you type. I hit ok and then go to messaging and try the keyboard is the one i had before i selected swype. I see no option for changing the keyboard. I must be missing something.

You're almost there.

When you go into messaging, tap and hold in the message box, and a menu will pop up. Select "input method" and you can now pick any of the keyboards that you have installed. Once you pick Swype, it stays default (even rebooting the phone) until you select a different one.

Re: Working Confirmed Swype (Best EVO Keyboard)

I can't download anything from any site other than the app market. I set it to install 3rd party apps, but it tells me I can't download it b/c it is not intended for my phone.

This sucks...lol

If you download a file explorer from the marketplace, this apk is actually already on the sd card
