I have it installed, under the phone settings - language & keyboards I have swype checked but when I go to type something it uses the old keyboard....how do I tell it to use swype?

I tried it, I like Swype better. Swype handles going back to correct errors much better, AND it has a shift key...shapewriter seemed to only auto capitalize, and not let me decide any other way for myself.

This version works great, thanks OP. I had one that I tried that was on this forum before the phone came out, and all it would do is giver errors regarding screen resolution...no such errors anymore, works great.

i made the switch, only because the 'back' arrow takes me to the letter i need to correct, rather than erasing the whole word. (unless swype can do that)

If you just tap the back arrow it should erase the last letter.
