newbie looking to learn...(root issues)
Okay, so I got this evo like less than a week ago. Before I got it I read that I can get WiFi tethering for free through rooting the phone. so I read more about it and it reminded me of the days of custom firmware on my psp and jailbreaking my ipod touch... but like all new things I know nothing about it. I read through the huge sticky about rooting and flashing and all and I was left saying "huh?"
I saw a guy on YouTube , he had a guide on rooting using unrevoked3. I followed it and was left empty handed, mid way through when the phone was supposed to reboot into recovery for the second time it just rebooted... I know messing with stuff like hat is dangerous so I decided to ask someone how I can fully root my evo and not make it a very expensive paperweight... hence my being here...
Sorry for the long post, and I know I am a newbie when it comes to the inner workings of Android, but if someone decides to assist me It would be greatly appreciated....
