re: EVERYTHING EVO - Rooting | NAND | Flashing Roms | Wipe

I have used the stock recovery as well as clockmods and both didn't work for me. I have checked the files sizes and re-downloaded them as well. I am current on sprint lovers 7/12 rom. I am tempted to just get the OTA 2.2 if I can't get this working tonight.

More questions:

Which recovery are you using?

Did you verify the file size with Chris to make sure you got a complete download?

So you are on what ROM right now?
There's one other stab-you may/might/possibly need to ensure you got ALL the 1.47 OTA files (not just radio and wimax).
Chris may have gotten those for you, I dunno, but when you re-rooted you most likely lost those. OMJ recommends having them before flashing his Froyo ROM.
I would go to OMJ's thread and go to Post #2. DL and install the v1.7 ROM1 update (PC36IMG format) then flash OMJ's Froyo ROM.
You should verify that you are nand unlocked first-load bootloader by power off then back on while holding Vol Down. If hboot doesnt say .76.2 then you are not "fully" rooted, if it does then you can flash that PC36IMG file of OMJ's (just to verify since you re-rooted)

If that works you should be able to jump back to Sprint Lovers without a problem.

If you want to reformat your card (still think it's a reach) then:
Backup your card onto your PC.
Reformat it with fats32.
Reboot with the blank card and let the device prep it.
Dont put anything but the ROM files back on the card.
Try the flash then.

Any chance you're not fully rooted?
How are you getting into the recovery screen?
Can you install Quick Boot from the market and use it to go straight into recovery?

What part is vague?
The directions say "Now type (do not cut/paste this)"
What it doesn't explain is to enter each line not combine it.

Maybe something explaining that each line is separate entry,

cat /sdcard/flash_image > /data/local/flash_image (Then enter key)
chmod 755 /data/local/flash_image (Then enter key)
/data/local/flash_image misc /sdcard/mtd-eng.img (Then enter key)

OR like it already says:
"If you typed each line correctly, you won't see any changes and the line will just repeat once when you hit enter. Each command takes a second or two."

Yes it does but before I got to that section all is well explained in separate entry's.
When I got to 5S It gave me the appearance on one entry..well until I noticed change in pace direction you mentioned above after the fact.

At any point its a great tutelage yet that section through me off...it has done the same to a couple of my smartphone buddys as well.

Well not to be a nutbuster but at the start it does say:

"NOTE: Yes there are a lot of steps. Read through them once before you try it."

And yes, you're right it is a great tutorial!

It shouldn't matter, when you power off the phone you unmount the card so the files are accessible.
What issue are you having?
