Re: International Capability? HTC EVO 4G

unfortunately, the Evo does not have a sim device for international use. but an admin over at the sprint forums posted that it will work if you travel to a country that has cdma network...not sure how correct he/she is....because there's a landline provider at the Philippines that uses cdma for their "wireless landline" (otherwise known as a cellphone), and when my wife asked if she can activate a cdma phone that i was gonna send to her...they told her there way no way to do it (yeah right...maybe it has to do with the fact that they have an exclusive contract with phone maker ZTE?!?!?). so it sou.nds like it will depend if that network will want to activate your unit to use with their network.

but having a sim device wouldve sealed the deal for me getting the Evo today...even if i had to sign up for another line. but still not a deal breaker though.

Re: International Capability? HTC EVO 4G

hmmm, i believe this phone only works wherever a sprint network is available being a Sprint CDMA phone. If it were a gsm with sim card capabilities then maybe it would have been a possibilty. The only way i think this phone would work internationally would be through wifi and had a skype app installed on your phone. However i could be wrong, just some food for thought.
