Multi-Tasking?

I feel like such a newb.... lol - coming from TP2 MightyRom which I customized top to bottom. I really miss my TP2 keyboard A LOT. However the phone is beautiful but this on-screen business is gonna take some getting use to.

Anyway so when you close an ap does it actually close down or stay open in the background? How exactly do you get multiple aps running if you wanna do a few things at once? I just don't know if the ap actually gets closed or not.

Also I can't figure out how to shut off vibrate on an incoming text which I am finding very annoying.

Re: Multi-Tasking?

Hold down the home key and the last 6 apps you had open will appear in a pop up

For the vibrate in the text you have to go into the text message settings and uncheck vibrate.

The apps you open are still running in the background & Android basically close them when need to is how I understand it

Re: Multi-Tasking?

they dont close when you leave them, they close as the system needs more ram. I suggest advanced task killer free. I set mine to autokill to save battery.

and yes to switch between running apps, hold home (its not an actually running list but you shouldnt be doing more than 6 things at once i guess, so it works fine (for me))

Re: Multi-Tasking?

Cool thanks guys, I appreciate it - I haven't used an android phone for more than a few min before the evo. Guess I gotta start somewhere.

Thanks again

What level do you set it on (safe, aggressive, or crazy), and what timing do you set (.5hour, 1hour, etc)?
