Import contacts help

I need some help importing my contacts to my Evo. I've tried syncing with gmail and all I get is contacts name with no other info. So I tried saving a vfile from gmail and downloading it to my phone and i get the same result, contacts but no numbers. I have no idea how to fix this. Any ideas?

Been there already. I got my contacts succesfully exported from my TP2 to my gmail account. However my problem is importing them properly to my Evo. When I use google sync it imports the contacts but no numbers come into my phone with them. So I tried logging into Gmail from my comp and I exported all of my contacts to a vfile or whatever its called. Then from my evo I went into people and imported that file and the same thing happened. Contacts but no phone numbers.

Your phone numbers are in your csv file if you export your contacts and open them in Excel or some other database editor. I had the same problem as you. I exported my contacts from gmail, saved them to desktop, opened them in Excel, and copied the numbers from one field and pasted them in the correct one so that my Evo would recognize them.

Edit one contact and enter their cell, home, fax, ect. Sync your contacts again. Export them from gmail and cut and paste. Took me 30 minutes for over 170 contacts.

A little bit difficult wording in your explanation but I ended up figuring out what you meant. Thank you so much dude, this issue has literally been bothering me all day long and I had no access to my gmail from my work computer. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm having the same problem if I'm trying to edit in excel what field do i need to move my numbers into ? Going insane trying to get these contacts moved the numbers don't show up from gmail.

Just manually set up "one" contact in your phone with all the correct numbers then resync with gmail. Export the newly sync'd csv file and edit it. You should be able to know which numbers are for what (mobile, home, fax, etc.)

I just beamed them via bluetooth from my touch pro... it takes less time than to do it via computer... Very easy
