Contact names showing up backwards

After syncing my phone with exchange, I noticed that the when accessing a lot of my contacts via voice command (or my Chrysler UConnect system), I have to say the last name first, and the first name last. For instance, if I try to dial Steve Jobs, it can't find anything, but if I dial Jobs Steve, it finds it. I've had many WinMo phones, and have never had this issue with voice command (or Uconnect). Nothing has changed in my contacts since I got the Evo. I realize this is probably because my exchange display name is set to "Steve Jobs" for some users, but why can't it just look at the first and last name fields instead?

Is there a way to remedy this? A setting, perhaps? Or can it be fixed with a 3rd party exchange sync tool, like TouchDown?

Thanks,
Dave

Re: Contact names showing up backwards

I went through all of my outlook contacts and changed the "File As" to "First Last" instead of "Last, First" and it fixed the issue. Not sure why none of my WinMo phones ever had an issue with it, though. Please let me know if anyone finds a permanent fix going forward, because it will be tough to remember to do that as I add contacts.

Re: Contact names showing up backwards

It does not matter how I have Outlook save as it still loads on phone first, last. using Outlook 2002 and HTC Sync

Re: Contact names showing up backwards

The phone itself (when scrolling through the contacts) shows them as "first last," but the voice command and bluetooth apps do not see them this way. Have you tried voice dialing a user that is filed as Last, First?
