how to shut off sense ui

thanks! i knew i had to go to htc sense and then force close, but couldn't figure out what i was doing wrong... turns out you have to press clear default too.

Go to the Market and download Home Switched and you can have the best of both worlds

when i close sense and hit home it automatically restarts sense even though ive cleared defaults. i hit the home screen and i dont get that prompt showing htc sense and launcher as options. does anyone have any idea why that could be?

i'm guessing you installed the recent OTA update? In the update, they removed the stock android 2.1 launcher, so if you want to use a launcher other than Sense UI, you'll have to download a third party launcher like launcherpro from the android market.... then you'll get the option to switch.

that is some major bs(hope i can actually say bs i havent read the rules since 2007). im currently using launcherpro since i couldnt shut off sense. something about that thing on the bottom bugs me a lot about sense<shrugs> but i miss those widgets. thanks for the info
