Re: Ringtones directory

I tried placing my ringtones in sdcard\media\audio\ringtones\ and sdcard\ringtones For some reason EVO only detects preloaded tones. What am I doing wrong?

Maybe it doesn't like the format your files are in.

Re: Ringtones directory

I have about 50 different MP3 files in in ringtones directory that came from different sources. I doubt all of them are bad...

My path is sdcard/media/ringtones. Works fine for me. Inside the media folder is where you make your ringtones, notifications, and alerts folders.

Same crap.... Tried .SDCARD\ringtones, .SDCARD\media\ringtones and .SDCARD\media\audio\ringtones with the same result.

Okay hoss, there might be something wrong with the ringtones you're trying to use. I'm looking at my sdcard file structure now. You should make a "Media" folder DIRECTLY ON THE SDCARD so no one says I'm being vague. This means that as soon as you mount your phone as a usb drive, whatever pops up and opens, create a new folder there called "Media". Inside this folder, I have "Alarms", "Alerts", "Notifications", and "Ringtones". Inside the "Notifications" folder, is where your messaging ringtones would go. Inside the "Ringtones" folder is where your phone call ringtones would go. I'm using mp3 ringers, so everything is working fine. I'm not too clear on what would go in the "Alarms" and "Alerts" folder.

And if those aren't clear enough, I've attached a crudely drawn image of detailed instructions. Enjoy.

But seriously, if you need more help, just pm me or post in here. I'll be happy to help.
