*Tutorial* Sprite Migration from TP2 to Evo...

*Disclaimer* The program/method listed below has been successful in transfering TP2 info to the Hero, its unknown yet whether or not this will work for the Evo. Ive completed steps 1 & 2, but can't do step 3 until I have my Evo in my possesion, which will not be until 8:30am. As of now, step 3 may, or may not work. I won't know until I get my Evo. Or until someone who already has theirs try it.

This method should work for:
Contacts
Call Logs
SMS
Bookmarks
much more coming soon...

Step 1: Download/Install/Run: Sprite-Migrate-0.1.0.3.CAB on your TP2. Make the TP2 backup file that was created available on your pc for step 2.

Step 2: Download/Install/Run: Sprite-Migrate.msi on your pc fom the Sprite-Migrate.zip folder. Make the Evo converted file that was created available on your Evo for step 3. (Must be placed on root of storage card, NOT in a folder.)

Step 3: Download/Install/Run: Sprite-Migrate-0.2.1.13.apk on your Evo and use it to load your Evo converted file. At this point, you can select what data to load, so if you don’t want your old bookmarks on your new phone, simply untick them. The existing data on your Evo will be replaced with the contents of your TP2 for the categories you select. Any data you have entered into your Evo so far, for those categories, will be permanently removed.

Now I just need to take my butt to sleep so that I will be awake enough to do the 3rd step after I go pick up my Evo at 8:30

Sweet Info. Appreciate the heads up. Now off to bed for a few hours before the rest of my day is unproductive due to playing with the EVO. LoL

Yeah I said I was going to sleep a long time ago....yet Im still awake....lol....I feel like a lil kid on Christmas Eve waiting to get up and open presents in the morning!! LOL I really need to go to sleep so I wont be a zombie in the morning!!

As a backup, incase the Sprite Migration step 3 fails, I just used ActiveSync to exchange my contacts, calendar, and email with Google Sync to my gmail account. It worked flawlessly. I first deleted all my contacts & calendar appointments from my account online via pc. Then changed my phone identity & description on my TP2 because I had peviously synced it and didnt want to end up with a bunch of duplicates and/or old info merged with new info.

Re: *Tutorial* Sprite Migration from TP2 to Evo...

Might be a dumb question, but how do I access the storage card once I plug my evo into my computer? I need to put the image file on the device, but can't for the life of me figure out how.

Also once it is on the card, how do you access it on the phone?

There are a lot of free File Explorers in the Market. Astro is widely regarded as the best free one. Search for Astro, install, done.

On another note, Sprite says they can't migrate Notes from WM, and have no plans to add that ability. Bummer

Figured it out...need to format the new sd card once you put it in. Download sprite migrate from the market. The version on here says expired.
