Smile How long do I have to wait to Transfer a number?

I'm adding a line at Radioshack to get the Evo for $199 no MIR blah blah blah you get it. So here's the scenario...

My primary line - 3766
Secondary line - 1616
New line - ????

Basically I want to buy the Evo and put it on the ???? line but how long do I have to wait before I contact Sprint and ask for a number swap to get the Evo on my 3766 line.

Also, a side question. Since I am a Premiere Customer do I have a lower Activation fee than anyone else? $18, right? Will the guy at Radioshack even know that I am?

AND ONE LAST! lol, the money I put out when I'm at Radioshack is ONLY for the phone, correct? The activation fee and the $10 for 4G and the $20 for the extra phone will all be billed on my upcoming bill or next months bill...?

If anyone could answer these that would be AWESOME!

Premier no activation fee let them know up front or they won't do it sprint won't either unless you tell them. 2 the only real problem with changing numbers is the MIR since you won't get one get the phone go home call sprint change numbers around I have done it every time. Still got the rebate to. I am getting the phone on a line that my son has but will switch 3 of the numbers around no problem. ANd 3 all the rest will be on your next bill cycle but you may also get a prorate on your next bill. So it may be higher than expected.

Wait, you said the only problem is the MIR? I'm pretty sure I triple-checked to make sure there wasn't a MIR at Radioshack and that it was only going to be $199 (plus taxes). Did I totally miss this?

Re: How long do I have to wait to Transfer a number?

They won't swap numbers, they will swap the device from the one line to another. So if you have 1 month left on the 3766 line for your contract to end, once the swap is over you will still have 1 month with the 3766 but just with an EVO phone and the new line will still have a 2 year contract. Your better off if you want to get rid of the first line to port that number out and then back. It will cancel the first line and Sprint will then charge you #10 for every month left on the contract. If you do that, get a disposable phone (line virgin wireless phone) and port the number there.

I went through the porting this week on Monday. Took about 12 to 13 hours to port the number out of Sprint and then the next day about 3 to 4 hours to port it back to the new line. I now have that number on a new line with a 2 year contract and $150 upgrade eligibility and the old line is gone.

I am not sure if this is the same situation or not. My daughters phone on our plan is due an upgrade, mine is not. I am upgrading the phone for her tomorrow. I will then come home log into sprint change her number back to her old phone and then activate the EVO on my number, that will work wont it?

I'm still very curious about this. Radioshack won't have a MIR, just an Instant Rebate, correct? So I'll only be paying $199 (plus taxes) when I'm at Radioshack...?

Well the unfortunate part here is that my number I want the Evo on was just renewed to buy the Hero for my mom. So I'm stuck for another year, lol.

That will work. Radioshack won't do it, but Sprint will via Store, Phone or Online.

I'm doing the same thing , but I ported mine out to T-mobile prepaid. Did you have an account number for Virgin mobile? T-mobile prepaid told me my phone number is my account number, but I've been reading different things on the web.

Re: How long do I have to wait to Transfer a number?

Here is the thing none of them will tell you until you there and ready to buy.

for the 199.99(either it has to be new service line, or single line turning into a family line)

if you have a family plan with 2 or more lines, and adding another, or if you have a family plan, and renewing one of the lines, or single plan and renewing your plan, IT WILL COST YOU 299.99

By the way I work part-time at The Shack, so please be aware, and not go thinking the price you see is the price you get
